A Day in the Life
"The moments you captured were perfect."
We LOVED having your document a very special moment for our daughter to see later when she starts asking questions about her adoption. The moments you captured were just perfect, exactly what I’d hoped for. I still tear up every time I look through the photos! Judy and Len took a lot of care before our photo shoot to make sure they documented what we wanted and asked a lot of questions to understand our family dynamics. By having both of them there, we were able to get photos from two angles and two perspectives, which was wonderful. They were in the background most of the time, but made sure the posed photos were what we needed before our time together ended. And, they even interacted with all the kids! We had a fun time and are so glad we had Judy and Len to help us document a very special family day.

I knew that it was how I wanted my family documented. Twice Judy and Len have come into our home to document the everyday moments with my family. To say that we've been pleased with the final product of photos would be an understatement. Not only was the photograph quality of the highest professional standards, but the emotions that were captured in the photographs take me back to that very moment every time I look at them. Judy and Len unobtrusively came into our home and it never once felt uncomfortable while they were "working their magic." I highly recommend the Day in the Life photography for anyone wanting photographs of their family that are unique, emotional, and sure to be forever treasured. our time together ended. And, they even interacted with all the kids! We had a fun time and are so glad we had Judy and Len to help us document a very special family day.

Fabulous, they worked incredibly hard to get every detail of the wedding. I was amazed at how early they arrived before the wedding to get started taking pictures. They also stayed very late after the wedding to get great pictures of the reception and family pictures. Never once during this event did we ever feel rushed to wrap the celebration up so the photographers could leave. It was like they were family and they did not want to miss a minute of the event. They had so many great ideas to help the newlyweds and the family's remember the great day. The quality of the finished pictures are remarkable. Looking at the pictures takes you right back to the wedding. I am a fair photographer but do not have the high quality cameras and lenses and knowledge that southern photography have. They worked so hard to be at the right place at the right time. They were at the wedding for over 7 hours. And during that time they were constantly looking for the next great picture. They also took the engagement pictures . My son and his wife were medical student with very limited time and had to travel 8 hours to take the engagement pictures. Southern photography was very gracious to work with them on there schedule. When the weather turned out to be terrible for the engagement pictures southern photography came thru again and was still able on short notice to change venue and make the engagement pictures look fabulous. Can't say enough good things about them. Hope you give them an opportunity to make your special day extra special.

"You could tell the duo put their heart and soul into their work."
It's hard to find the right words. From the very get go Len & Judy were a blessing. It wasn't until months after I had met the charming couple that I gave them a call. We had hired another photographer, and it just wasn’t working out. When we began searching for THE photographer that would capture our Big Day, Len & Judy were the ones that came to mind time after time. I met them at a Bridal show in Athens, GA. Anyone who attends these shows knows just how overwhelming they can be. My bridal party and I met countless photographers; all offering some sort of deal and most way over my budget. I only clicked with one, I only remember one. I remember meeting Len & Judy and instantly feeling like family. They were so warm and inviting. I never felt pressured or cheated. And their work was absolutely stunning! The best part? It didn’t look like everyone else’s work. You could tell the duo put all their heart and soul into their work and in turn each image was truly unique.
I finally talked to my (now) Husband about how I couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to talk to them. I expressed how much I loved the couple after just one meeting and how I genuinely felt that God had sent me to the Bridal show just to put them on our path. We decided that we would find the money one way or another and that whatever the price we wanted Seeing Southern Photography to be our Story Tellers. I finally sent the email. I asked the questions. We set up a phone call and during that phone call I knew this was the only choice. The best choice. I was shocked to see that they were in fact affordable and they just seemed eager to work with us. They took the time to ask questions and really learn how my Husband and I were as a couple. They understood what was important to us, because they took the time to ask. The next step was the engagement shoot. They came to our home for the session. They looked around and picked up on all the details that make us, us. They took the time to incorporate all of our quirky obsessions. They genuinely wanted to know the story of our engagement. We felt so comfortable the whole time, they even had us laughing most of the day.
I prefer images that are candid and capture the happiness in my life versus the staged illustrations of us as a perfectly poised couple. When we got the images back I immediately fell in love. They were able to capture us the way we see us. I couldn’t help but cry. We truly had found the perfect people! Len & Judy went above and beyond their duties as photographers. They helped me set up a time line, spent endless amounts of time on the phone answering questions, made suggestions on how to make family photos run smoothly and basically supported me in any way needed. Over the course of my engagement they really became family.
Then, the best day ever came. They were there for everything. They helped move things along, so they could keep things on track. They were dressed professionally, and they even wore Hufflepuff colors to support this Brides Harry Potter obsession. They were friendly with everyone. They helped put me at ease. They reminded me to drink water and to eat something. They were organized. They worked their tails off. They captured every blissful second. They got the details, the family, the bridal party, the Groom, the emotions, the reactions, the endless stream of tears… everything. And the results were phenomenal. I couldn’t be more pleased with the Gallery I received. I love EVERY SINGLE IMAGE. They were flattering and beautiful. They really paid attention to… well everything.
Len & Judy really are the ultimate dynamic duo! We truly are thankful for all the love and support these two have shown us. There is not one single thing we would change in our experience with them. We have many friends that are engaged pr pregnant and I cannot help but share my experience in hopes that they will also meet Len & Judy and experience what we did. From this point forward, as long as they are still telling stories and capturing them, we will use Seeing Southern Photography for every single life event.
If you haven’t booked them yet, I suggest you do. You will not be disappointed.

There are no words to describe how amazing Len & Judy truly are - they are not just photographers, they are miracle workers! My husband does not like having his photo taken, many of our family members are not naturally comfortable in front of a camera, but Len & Judy made everyone feel at ease. The pictures turned out better than I ever could have imagined!! I have and will recommend them to everyone I know! These two have the biggest hearts, best attitudes, and just make everything fun. These words just don't do them justice - I will call them for every photography need the rest of our lives. We are actually considering flying them out to California for my sister's wedding, they just don't know it yet ;-) Thank you, J+L, for everything! I love you two so much! Joanna and I had a lot of fun doing the engagement photos. We are very pleased with the photos, so we'd say y'all did a great job! The things that most impressed us most were your creativity, professionalism, and flexibility. We really appreciated that you were flexible enough to take a tour of Grant Park with us, searching for great photo locations. We think you all are fabulous. You know how to be patient with toddlers, which is huge! You're professional and have thought through good shot ideas before our session starts, but are also flexible and open to suggestions. It's nice that both of you photograph, so while one is adjusting a camera, the other is still snapping pictures. It means a LOT of great pictures are the result. I loved every step of the process with Len and Judy. I feel like we connected immediately from the first conversation to the goodbye hugs the night of the wedding. I appreciated them taking the reins the day of the wedding in capturing the sweetest moments and not bothering me with a ton of questions. I game them total control of the photography for my special day and have the most beautiful pictures to show for it. Len and Judy are very talented and should be considered for any bride's big day. UPDATE: Oh, we just love you both! Without a shadow of a doubt, the best decision I made was reaching out to you. After the bridal show in Athens in January I just couldn't stop thinking about when I met you. Not only were your pictures flawless but the loving energy was infectious. Months later when I decided I needed to find a new photographer there was one obvious choice. From that very first phone call I knew we had made the right decision. When you told me you had our date available I knew things were supposed to happen the way they did.

You guys were amazing! I’m so glad I found you two, I think photography is one of the most important elements to a wedding. You two were easy to work with and very understanding about the way I wanted things done. I was clear from the beginning that I prefer candid over portrait. I wanted versatility and uniqueness. You guys delivered in every aspect. Judy has a calm way of bringing everyone’s attention to her so that she can deliver instructions for the group photos. Also I am an amateur at posing for pictures and she was right there helping me create natural and flattering poses. Len and Judy are just simply the BEST! I warned Judy up front that we are an awkward bunch...which she told me I wasn't allowed to say, but I'll say it again for those in the back - WE. ARE. AWKWARD. Len and Judy, you are absolutely without a doubt the most incredible vendors a bride and groom could ask for. From the moment I met you, you were funny, professional, kind, patient, and so hospitable it felt like you were lifelong friends of ours. Our experience with Seeing Southern was over the top in terms of professionalism before, during and after the shoot. Len and Judy are natural storytellers, (the good kind). Scheduling our shoot was a breeze. and the contract was user friendly . We needed to scheduled our photo shoot during the holidays since my son & his wife live in Colorado. Judy graciously worked us in Christmas week!
As I scrolled through my gallery I laughed and teared up. All of the photos are exceptional. But the photos taken on the front porch of my Daddy’s house told the story of us perfectly. The tenderness of the moments in front of the house were not lost. Compassionate is a great word to use to describe Judy and Len.
So, would I recommend Seeing Southern? A hundred times YES!!! They will help you tell your story

Len and Judy were AMAZING! From start to finish it was an incredible process. Having two photographers instead of one made for such an unbelievable photo experience on my wedding day, as they were able to capture moments that a solo photographer otherwise would never have been able to get. They truly understand the vibe of a couple almost instantly and they work with you to make such a special day come to life on film. The photos are absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't have asked for a better team and I have already recommended them to other friends of mine who are getting married.

I fell in love with Len and Judy’s work at the Georgia Bridal Show. I had been exploring photographers all over Facebook and google, but when I saw there work at the bridal expo, I knew they were the photographers I wanted at my wedding. They did not disappoint. They were super easygoin, and they know how to make you feel comfortable with a camera in your face, if that’s not something you’re used to. We got back so many pictures in our gallery, I was amazed at the number of pictures we received. We have so many great moments to look back on thanks to Len and Judy. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone to capture their special day.

Judy & Len were hands-down the best decision we made for our wedding. After seeing many examples online of stiff, unnaturally-posed couples with instagram-esque filtering, Seeing Southern was a breath of fresh air. We had other photographers ask what our "theme" for our photos was (moody & dark, dramatic, light & airy, etc)...but we just wanted good photos. Something that we wouldn't look back in 20 years and say "woah! what were we thinking??". With Seeing Southern, we got more than we could have possibly expected. Not only is their photography truly timeless, but they took time to get to know us as a couple and were able to capture who we are in ways we didn't know were possible. Many of their posts talk about being storytellers and I can't think of a better way to describe them. They told our story better than we ever could, without saying a word. Although, Judy wrote some things in our sneak peeks that still make me tear up - in the absolute best way.
Neither my husband nor I had ever done a professional photo shoot before, so having an engagement session included in our wedding package was an unexpected blessing. Judy and Len taught us some tricks for posing, but I never thought about it after the first 5 minutes. It felt like we were hanging out with good friends in fancy clothes. The engagement session made us both a lot more comfortable in front of the camera and with our photographers, the pictures were incredible, and it prepared us for wedding photos more than Pinterest ever could.
As for the wedding day itself, I personally don't know what we would have done without Judy and Len. They helped us create our original wedding day timeline (which was a lifesaver in itself since we had no idea where to start!) and adjusted that timeline seamlessly as things went awry in other areas. Judy kept me calm and collected during the most stressful moments of the day and even helped my MOH wrap my bouquet. Thanks to the engagement session, we were totally comfortable with Judy & Len during wedding photos. They made sure we got all the group shots we had planned during the shorter time slot, then we got to go "play" between the ceremony and reception. We had SO much fun doing tricks with my veil and the 70s convertible that a family friend let us borrow for the day. Some of the most consistent feedback we've gotten from our wedding from family and friends is how helpful they were, how much fun they were to have around, and how amazing the photos turned out.
I think what makes Judy and Len truly exceptional is the thing that is hardest to put into words - they call it "the in-between." When they tell you to pose a certain way or spin or dip or kiss, the pictures you'll treasure (and that make you friends and family say "wow!") aren't necessarily of the pose they asked you to do in that moment. Many of our favorites are of us laughing post-spin because I almost fell and my husband had to catch me. They'll tell you to suck in air before your lips touch for a "kiss" picture...well, I'm smiling in every single one because of the vacuum-like noise my husband would make. They also catch some of the best candids of moments that you may not expect or even get to see yourselves. There's a photo from right before our ceremony of my now-husband placing a framed picture of my mother, who passed away long before he came into my life, onto her reserved-in-memory chair, which just melts my heart every time I see it. I was standing nearby when it was taken and probably handed him the frame myself, but I never would have thought to ask for a picture of that moment. To have someone you've only met once be able to tell what is going to mean the most to you in the midst of wedding chaos, that's a quality that can only come with love for your clients and passion for your craft. It's something that is certainly hard to find, harder to name, and impossible to quantify.
To say that Judy and Len go above and beyond for their clients would be an understatement to say the least. They treated us like family from the very beginning and we could not be more grateful. To any future brides or grooms, please, do not miss out on this amazing duo. I can guarantee you'll get two amazing artists to tell your love story, but even better, you might just make two lifelong friends along the way.

We chose to select Len and Judy because they were so personable and made me feel incredibly comfortable just chatting with them at the wedding expo, so I knew they would help me relax during actual photos (I'm a little camera shy). Their photos are not the super dramatic and are a more natural look (more my style but less my husbands), but they worked with us to get some of the more "dramatic" color contrasts and lighting shots my husband was looking for too. They helped guide the timeline and make sure we hit all the major photos. We were leery about wedding photography, but ended up finding Judy and Len through recommendations. After initially meeting with them via Zoom we knew they were who we wanted to capture our day.
Before, during , and after the wedding, communication was flawless. Judy and Len really take the time to understand your vision and deliver just absolute perfection. We had SO much FUN taking pictures, laughing alongside them, and just every moment in between. They even took the time to capture any shots we thought of in the moment.
When our pictures came in, we were speechless. Every single picture was priceless. The perfect day came with all the precious moments we wanted photos to remember it by. The turn around time was less than a week! We were blown away.
Not only do we have these pictures for a lifetime, we have also found lifelong friendship with Judy and Len. If you're looking for a photographer, you have found them; look no further. You'll even get to see their amazing dance skills!

Seeing Southern Photography was unbelievably amazing! Picking a photographer to capture your special moments, especially your wedding, is a stressful decision. Being on a budget I was very worried about finding photographers in my price range that would capture my big day in its entirety. Seeing Southern Photography went above and beyond my expectations, I truly felt like I won the lottery with Len and Judy. If you are at all stressed about your event do yourself a favor and let Seeing Southern be your photographers and have one less thing to be stressed about.
Communication was a breeze with them. They are wonderful about scheduling times to chat around their schedule and yours. Len and Judy are two wonderful people that want to make sure they are capturing what you want. They ask great questions to get a feel for what is special to you and to make sure you get what you want. The online platforms they use for your prints and communication are so well put together and easy to access. When our wedding day finally came everyone that was in the wedding party was nervous including me and the groom. Once Len and Judy arrived, they put everyone at ease. They are so kind and have a great sense of humor. Not only do they give great direction they make you feel like you have known them forever. They keep everyone laughing so you get real smiles. Even our flower girl, who was two, was having a blast with them. I was so happy that they were a part of my special day that I asked them to sign the guest book. Today it is easy to forget that photography is an art form. Anyone one can snap a photo and post it to social media. Once you receive your photos from Seeing Southern Photography you will be reminded that good photography is an Art. Len and Judy captured everything I wanted but also gave me pictures of things that I would have never imagined. I will cherish these photos and heirlooms forever. They truly have an artistic eye and leave you going “wow”. My husband is a wedding caterer and I have been a bridesmaid in three weddings. We both have never had an experience this amazing with photographers. Len and Judy are great at what they do. They take wonderful photos and bring magic with them. They truly care about their clients and try to help wherever they can. Any time in the future that we will need photographers I will be going back to them. From start to finish, Len and Judy made the experience perfect. Our test/engagement shoot helped us not only get to know them and their style, but also set us completely at ease regarding the photos of our big day. We had a blast and got some really great pictures!
On the day itself, they did a masterful job of capturing my bride's beauty, as well as the beauty of the entire ceremony, the majesty of the venue, and the heart of all present. We knew what to do and what to expect, and they again set us right at ease. Their expertise was again shown when I popped a button on my vest - Judy instantly said not to worry and that she would gladly sew it back on, which she did.
We got our photos in record time, even though we weren't able to enjoy them right away due to packing up our old house. But once we moved and were able to sit down and mull them over, we were so deeply touched by how our day was captured. It took us a while to even think about the photography itself, as our first reactions were to revel in the memories evoked. That, to me, is expert photography - when it so deftly captures the moment that it triggers your mind's eye in a way that is moving and immersive. We loved every photo - from the serious, to the silly, to the creative pictures of our special items and venue.
Finally, our photo book. Wow! Len and Judy were very helpful and responsive as we planned the book out, and sent us proofs to make sure the changes we made were what we wanted. Honestly, we didn't need many changes as their composition was great. We just had a few pictures we had included and later decided they didn't fit the overall book (and we can always get prints of those!). The final product is gorgeous, and the premium upgrade was worth it for something we will treasure for our entire lives.
